Ways to Give a Planned Gift
Bequests
You can decide to make Angel Flight West part of your legacy through a gift in your will to direct support where the needs are greatest, or to a project within the scope of Angel Flight operations that you find particularly interesting. Angel Flight West tax identification is: 95-3956297. You may include this ID in your codicil to be sure your gift is directed to AFW. Be sure to consult with your attorney for any will update.
Charitable Gift Annuity
In exchange for a gift of cash or property, Angel Flight West agrees to make fixed payments to the donor or designee for life. This type of planned gift is a way to benefit Angel Flight West in the future, supplement your current income with partly tax-free payments, and also realize a federal tax deduction.
Charitable Remainder Trust
A trust can receive cash or property from the donor, make payments for a life, lifetimes, or a term of years and then distribute the "remainder" to a charity. The benefits to the donor of a CRT (charitable remainder trust) include:
- The trust can sell the property tax-free, so you can bypass capital gain,
- The trust pays a percentage of its value to the trust beneficiary,
- The donor receives a current federal income tax deduction.
There are a number of important considerations in establishing a CRT. We would be pleased to discuss your interest with no obligation or cost to you.
Insurance
Life insurance policies can name Angel Flight West as first, second or last beneficiary. There may be tax benefits to assigning existing or new policies as charitable gifts.
In addition to those mentioned, there are many trust variations to suit your particular circumstances and goals. Retirement funds and IRA’s, as charitable gifts, and gifts involving real estate can also benefit Angel Flight West.
We invite your inquiry. There is never an obligation or a fee to discuss how we can work together to help you accomplish your charitable goals while helping Angel Flight West to advance its important mission.
